PERIDOT
Peridot is one of the few gemstones that exists in only one color; a distinctive lime green. Also known as “the Evening Emerald,” its sparkling green hue looks brilliant any time of day. Peridot is said to possess healing properties that protect against nightmares and evil. In ancient times, it also was believed that Peridot was a gift from Mother Nature to celebrate the annual creation. Peridot forms deep inside the earth’s mantle and is brought to the surface by volcanoes. Today, an estimated 80 to 95 percent of the Peridot supply comes from Arizona.
