CMI-DigitalRemarketingAd-970×250-Diamonds-JUL2018

At CMI Jewelry, we specialize in all types of luxury jewelry – from stunning colored gemstones to precious metals. However, we built our business on diamonds, and our 10,000 square foot showroom is packed with stunning diamond jewelry and a massive selection of engagement rings.

When you’re looking for the perfect diamond, size is definitely not all that matters. When selecting our diamonds, we always consult the 4Cs to make sure we are providing you the best quality stone. The 4Cs are: cut, color, clarity and carat.

The “cut” refers to the diamond’s proportions and finish. Some of the most popular diamond cuts include round, oval, princess, pear, and emerald, although there are many more. The color of diamonds can range from yellow to colorless – the less color, the better. The clarity is the measure of a diamond’s inclusions, which are very tiny natural marks within the diamond. You want a stone with less inclusions; a stone with no inclusions is considered flawless. The carat is the size of the diamond. Diamonds are measured in increments called points – 100 points equal 1 carat.

All of these characteristics are what contribute to the ideal diamond. At CMI we select diamonds that meet all 4Cs, not just one. Come in to meet with one of our experts to learn more and find the diamond you have been searching for.

Peridot

rubies

If you love bright and lively colors, you will love August’s birthstone, the Peridot! Peridot is typically a brilliant lime green, although it can also come in brown or olive tones. Peridot is the child of volcanic action, and is often combed from the black sands in Hawaii.

In the past, peridots were favored by pirates, considered amulets against evil, and also used for medicinal purposes. It is now known for being the accepted gift for the 16th year of marriage.

Care should be taken with peridots, and they should be protected against scratches, sharp blows, household chemicals and extreme temperature changes.

PLACES TO GO : Whiskey Kitchen

Whiskey Kitchen is a quaint, centrally located spot that has outdoor dining and is dog friendly. You can find great events and specials on their website, but our favorite is their Flight Night which is every Wednesday, and offers 3 full shots of whiskey for just $10. While the libations are certainly a draw, you certainly won’t want to miss the food menu either. Our recommendations include the Fried Cauliflower, Pickle Jar, Mussels in Coconut Broth, or if you want to splurge, the Whole Fried Fish.

PLACES TO EAT: Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival
