When you have a stunning piece of jewelry you love and want to care for, there’s more you need to do than just clean it. Part of taking care of your new possession is having it appraised. An appraisal is an informed opinion as to the authenticity, quality, design, and value of a jewelry item. The opinion is backed by training, experience, and state-of-the-art equipment. There are different types of appraisals, one being an Insurance Replacement Appraisal, which helps you properly insure your jewelry against loss or damage. An Insurance Replacement Appraisal helps you to protect yourself in the case your jewelry goes missing.

At CMI we offer appraisals with staff members trained by the Gemological Institute of America, and unlike most jewelry stores, we offer a free appraisal with qualifying jewelry purchases.

Diamond

If you’re an April baby, you sure have a great birthstone – the diamond! One of the most popular gemstones, it’s also well known for being the stone of choice for engagement rings and 10th and 60th anniversaries. The diamond has been a traditional symbol of love since ancient Greece, and its name comes from the Greek word “adamas”, meaning “unconquerable”.

Diamonds are most popularly a colorless stone, but can also be found in a variety of colors, including green, pink, and canary yellow. They are one of the most durable gemstones, but should still be protected from sharp blows and cleaned with care.

There will be no shortage of food trucks at the April 28th Brewgaloo event; be sure to save room so you can sample from a few. One of our favorites is Barone Meatball Company, which includes a rotating selection of delicious meatball flavors, from the traditional “Mom’s Italian Meatballs”, to seafood balls, to vegetarian Ricotta Balls. Be sure to save room for something sweet – a favorite dessert truck would have to be Two Roosters Ice Cream, serving up super creamy flavors including Roasted Strawberry and Honey, Butterscotch Haystack, and Blackberry Hibiscus.
